Title: Mitel 3300 MCD and Lync Integration
Post by: GPS_GIS on May 14, 2014, 08:45:21 PM
Hi there guys,

We have the Mitel Lync integration working successfully here (MiVoice).

We are having a problem though.  If we Make a Mitel voice call via lync, before dialing it brings through the internal user's full phone number instead of just their 3 digit Extension number.  To my understanding this number is controlled by the "Telephone Number" field in Active Directory. We have changed a users Telephone Number in AD to his ext number to test this theory with no joy.

1.   Is this the correct field we should be changing in AD?
2.   How does Lync and MiVoice get it's information updated from AD?

Any other thoughts and comments would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Tim

Not sure what you mean by

"before dialing it brings through the internal user's full phone number"

MiVoice covers a lot of Mitel product. Are you using the Mitel plugin with Lync?

Yes we are using the Mitel plug in to Lync.

When making a Mitel voice call from Lync, it wants to call 00110352207452, we want Lync to call 452 so people don't make external calls.

This is the same thing we found. No matter what we put in AD, we couldn't get it to dial the internal extensions...always wanted to dial outside the PBX (area code+exchange_number)...this was not acceptable as every call made from the Lync interface was an external (toll) call. Has anyone figured this out?

I know nothing at all about Lynk but aren't there some dialing rules you can apply?

Worse case, in the 3300, you can create a "loop back" trunk, route the call through there and strip off everything but the desired digits.

I'm sure that I hit this issue and found a way round it. I'll have to go back and find the info
