We recently updated our software on the 5000HX's to 6.1. Upgrade went fine on the CPs. However the 53xx series phones downloaded new firmware and are stuck at "DHCP: Discovery" and will not boot up. Help!
All 5212 phones are working, but not the 5300 series.

I am told that the version 6.X upgrade on the 5000 has its own DHCP server and that this is a new feature. Our phones are still digital, so we don't use this feature yet. I assume you have an existing DHCP server handing out IP addresses to your phones from before the upgrade to 6.X.
But just this fact of a new DHCP server in the mix makes me wonder whether the phones don't know which server to get its address from?

Thanks Adam. I will pass this on to our System Administrator. Our System Admin removed a command on the Cisco 3750 PoE switch and the phones connected to the CP. The command he removed was "swithcport voice vlan 1".

6.0 spk1 not 6.1 right?

If that Cisco is putting out LLDP, messing with the voice VLAN setting can goof with DHCP. The phone picks up LLDP first to decide which VLAN to broadcast its DHCP request on. If I remember correctly.
