Hi,
I set my Mitel 5212 up today and plugged it into the router, set the phone to SIP mode and let the phone do it's thing. The phone rebooted and got the IP address from the router, the screen displayed the following: "Unzip main load Booting SIP......." Then this: "Starting Main Booting SIP " and then nothing!A totally blank screen with just the backlight on! What is wrong? Have I missed something out?
Thanks,
Jack.

Please guys... Any help? it would be much appreciated!

Jacklw2011,
Try going here, most likely you did not setup your tftp server and/or config files so the phone knows how to act.

Hey,
Yeah, I updated the firmware for SIP and it's ok now (blank screen gone) However, I get the *NO REG* display on the screen and have tried with 3 different SIP providers :( Don't know what's going on! The main one I want to use is Sipgate.co.uk as I have all my extensions set up on that already but I can't register the phone with it!
Aaargh!

It seems as though I managed to set up one of my SIP accounts as I can ring out but can't get calls to come through, where do I configure the STUN server using the Web Config tool?
-
Jacklw2011,
Try looking here for how to set that up in your config file.

Hi,
Ummm. There is no option for a stun server address in any of the Mitel Web config tools! The only option is for STUN Server IP which is not an address, the stun server is stun.sipgate.co.uk, would I put that there?
Also what else do I have to do? I'm just so lost now! My old one was set up already for me but since I got this new one it's just a hassle!

Jacklw2011,
Was your old phone the same model? If do why not look at its configuration in order to solve your problem?
Anyway, if it will not take a URL in the configuration then just ping the URL to get of the addressee that get translated to the URL and see if that works for you.
Also without standing in front of the device and seeing what you are doing there is little chance anyone can tell you what else you need to do, especially if you never set one up before. Your best bet is to keep asking questions on the issues you are currently stuck at and see if someone has run into them before.
Thanks,
TE

Hi
This is an old thread but I wanted to know how you managed to fix the *No Reg* status?
I have the same issue with a 5320e and Sipgate, I've spent days on trying to get this working.
Hope you can help?
Thanks

*No Reg* is what the phone will display when it's not registered to a SIP server, so check your SIP account credentials.
