What are the various editions of UCA / UCX? I'm not sure if UCX is still a product but it appears on the web from various google searches in addition to things like UCA Basic, Web, Desktop etc...
Is there a matrix showing what versions are currently available for purchase and what features they each have?
-
UCX was retired off around the middle of last year. UCA basic was kind of introduced to replace it.

Do you know what the differences are between UCA Basic and UCA? Is there a features list?

Is this what you are looking for? http://www.getcomptel.com/product-announcements/changes-to-mitel-s-free-uc-client-program.html
Also, Mitel still sells UCX, but only as additional seats for existing sites that have a UCX deployment.

I know there is a "proper" official one somewhere, but the first one I came across was this (http://www.getcomptel.com/product-announcements/changes-to-mitel-s-free-uc-client-program.html)

Seems we googled for the same thing at the same time! :)

That link seems to suggest that UCA Basic is free? Is that true?

Correct yes it is free.
You need a server to host the UCA basic on though, where as UCX was only a client based set up before. You still install the UCA client as per a normal installation on the users PC, it is just limited in functionality.

Thank you...

Out of interest is the server expensive to buy?
-
I assume you are referring to the physical server hardware?
This depends on how much processing the server will do (based on call volume), but not really expensive if you buy yourself. I was sent a quote for a Dell PowerEdge R210 which is a pretty cheap rack mount server. I was told minimum RAM needed is 6GB.

Thanks for the info, is the server license expensive?
