Title: Routing Question
Post by: super6 on January 10, 2014, 12:26:36 PM
I have a 5000 system and trying to forward a user ext to another user.  the ext is setup to forward ALL calls however if the other ext is not available the phone doesn't go to voicemail.  I've tried a couple diff methods to try and accomplish this and both have failed.  obviously I am doing something wrong.  I would appreciate it if someone could point that out to me.  Any help is appreciated.

Opt 1.  User ext had 2 forwarding paths that both point to voicemail.

Opt 2.  Went into system forwarding paths and set point 1 to the user who is taking the calls and Point 2 is the voicemail.

if the user taking calls is in the office then all calls are getting there however if she is not then the phone just rings and never goes to voicemail.  Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Perry

You need to set up a SYS FWD path that goes to other ext then voice mail.  Within the SYS FWD path at the original ext click flag for IMMEDIATE.  DO NOT INVOKE A MANUAL FWD AT THE ORIGINAL PHONE, only use SYS FWD (phone display shouldn't say FWD).  MANUAL FWD won't follow path to vmail.  Be sure all call types are included (by default IC is not).
If you need to use this only sometimes, check DND instead of IMMEDIATE and put phone in DND to invoke path.

Thanks for the reply!!

Thought I tried that.  What should forward point 1 be??

Ext 160 needs to get routed to 126 and then to 160 VM if not answered.

OK, here is what I have setup and still doesn't work.  Ext 160 manual FWD is OFF

In system Forwarding Path

Destination           Forwarding Point 1           Forwarding Point 1       Forwarding Point 3
Ext 160                     160                                  126                           2501 (VM)

X160 will use a new forwarding path with X126 as Point 1 and 2501 as Point 2.

Confirm SYS FWD flag is enabled on X160.

Any Manual FWD on X160 will overide this SYS FWD.

If I have manual FWD off then the station (x160) just rings then goes to VM.  It never transfers to 126.  When I put manual FWD on (at the phone) then it gets transferred but never goes to VM after

Thanks for the help guys!!  Finally got it.  Just one little flag that hung me up.  Had the wrong flag on the wrong route.  All is good now.  Thanks again!
