Title: Transferred call rings but VM doesn't pick up
Post by: ChadH on January 07, 2014, 02:43:31 PM
I have two phone extensions that when transferred by our operator rings, but VM doesn't pick up (external calls), yet when I dial the extension internally the call does go to VM.  Suggestions?

It sounds like the phone only has internal call forwarding turned on.
You may want to log into the PBX and look up "call forwarding profiles" and check there.

You can also edit the call "Call Rerouting" form.   Look at the field labeled "1st alternative".  I would bet that it has a 1 in it.   Change it to a 2 and retest.

You can also forward from the phone by hitting the blue button then the call forwarding button.
You may want to ref the user guide for the phone.   There's a link to the users guide from our home page.

A quick way to see if the forwarding has been enabled on the sets is to run the maintenance command "locate feature ext (ext number)"

There are zero call forwarding profiles for the two extensions, and both call rerouting 1st Alts. are set to 2.  I find it odd that these two extensions are the only ones having this issue at our remote office while the other 3 phones are fine, and all configured the exact same way.  Could it be something internal when transferring from head office MCD to remote office MCD?

Multicall or Keysystem for the type?

If you look at Call reroute 1st alt number 2, what does it say?

Yes they do have VM setup.  If a call is made internally the VM picks up, it's when an external call comes in to Operator and when transferred the VM doesn't pick up.

First Alt # 2 is set to our VM extension (2700)

Don't change #2 because that will affect everyone that uses 2.
Create a new 1st alt number that points to your phone and use that one.
