For some reason I went to check out the Multiline Appearance Group form and received (Generic Forms Error: An unidentified error has occurred.). After clicking the option OK the same same error pops up.
If i were to change any of the Group Directory Number another Error comes up stating ( A system error has occured. Please note the following information and contact Technical Support. The parameter is incorrect.

Start by going to maintenance commands and entering "dbms check full" to see if you have DB errors.

You will have to do a backup and restore......

Yep, you have database corruption. Requires a save and restore.

Do i use the same backup to do the restore or from a previous backup.

That depends on how old your backups are and what has changed in between.
If little has changed I'd use an existing backup.
If you've made a lot of changes I'd create a new backup and use it.

Typically if you do a backup it fixes the error ( by dropping the programming ). So you can do a backup and restore from that backup.
