Title: Transfer to Hold & MOH
Post by: jeremywatco on November 19, 2013, 04:55:59 PM
Hi there,

I have a 5000 system that when calls come in they come in to a call key on the phone.

Then we have setup a series of phantom extensions and set them up as secondary extensions on all the phones. When a call comes in people answer it on the call key. Then to put on "hold" they use the transfer button which we programmed to transfer to hold and they transfer to an available phantom extension, thus blinking on all phones so others can pickup without having the call transfered to them specifically... works great.

Only issue is there isnt MOH when this happens.. just a Beep... Beep... Beep.............

If they use the hold button it plays music just fine.

Any ideas?
THanks!

Trace your MOH settings. Change any that say Tick Tones to music.

Any specific areas to check? I'll looked everywhere and nothing is set to tick-tone.

I am using the Transfer to Hold feature when users are hearing the tick tone.. so I am doing a transfer to hold to a phantom extension. Those phantons all are set not to use tick tone but rather the MOH. Still users hear tick tone

Check trunk groups, call routing announcements, hunt groups, and stations.

What if they are not looking at their keys? Wont they miss those calls cause they didn't see them blinking? Wouldn't a Hunt Group be a better solution? Just curios.
