Title: Complete Novice - NAT to Native settings (Mitel 5000)
Post by: mischiefbec on November 14, 2013, 12:20:29 PM
Hi there,

I use a Mitel 53XX series phone for work (when working from home). Since moving house I can't get two way audio from the handset and have been told the following may be the issue:

If they are Mitel 53xx handsets then in the phone system programming you need to set the IP settings to NAT instead of Native.

Only issue is that I can't find where to change this. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Rebecca

Hello

The NAT/Native setting is configured on the Mitel 5000 telephone system itself, not through the handset.

Under IP settings on your endpoint if you have access to the config software.

I can only see this being an issue if you have gone to or from a VPN connection though.

If your phone used to work and hasn't changed and if the telephone system hasn't changed it's going to be an issue with your new broadband connection / router.

Probably a ports issue or maybe a sip alg issue if you have a new router at your new place.

FWIW the new software and MBG support teleworker now for the 5000. I think it is a more secure option.
