I don't believe this is normal, but when making a call from my 5330 the message waiting indicator stays lit until the person answers. Is there a way to turn this off?
Thanks

That is the way it works. When you're calling someone, it gives you the ability to light their light if you're hearing ringing or a busy by pressing your message waiting key. Your lamp being lit is an indicator that lighting their light is an option for you to do.
You can go into the COS of the calling extension and disable "Message Waiting". This disables the ability to light a light so it should no longer be light on your phone.

Yes. COS=Class of Service.

Just be sure you don't stop the light from lighting when you get voice mail messages.
