Title: Renaming keys
Post by: pgartner on October 22, 2013, 03:34:36 PM
I created a new keymap for my client (ip phone 5330), is there a way to rename the text that it displays on the phone?

Example for intercom it shows IC, the line keys show (in French) Touch app 1

Also is there a key that I can program for hang-up?

Thanks

Paul

I tried hard to manage how to change system keys labels (like call key) and didn't find. I don't think it's possible. I was able to rename feature keys (like conference, system speed calls calls, etc.)...

You can't have a "release" key on the 5000 as the 3300/2000/200. Each time we replace a Nortel system for a 5000, users are complaining about that but they seems to get used to after few days... Some users use the "button" under the handset as a release key and are happy with that.

Hope that helps a little bit!

You can change the label on trunks and some feature codes.

Yes you can change the label on a feature key BUT, keep in mind, it will change it for every user (and keymap) who has that same feature key on their phone.
