Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone would be able to help
We have the following setup, Mitel 3300 MXe-III running 5.0 SP2 PR1 and a MAS/UCA running 4.0.227.0
We are experiencing two issues
One, outbound calls are routed via ISDN 2e and inbound are via a SIP trunk
When making outbound calls, after approx 20 mins, the calls drop, we make a lot of conference calls, so this is beginning to be noticed almost daily, When I have experienced this, my desk phone just says busy. I have a Mitel 5330 phone
The second issue is calls to mobiles, after 3-5 minutes, the call quality drops and they sound like robots on the phone
We have had this looked at already and are yet to find a solution
Thanks
Andy

For the outbound calls dropping, look in the COS for the call length limits (can't remember the exact name of the option right now) and make sure that isn't enabled.
When you say calls to mobiles are you meaning EHDU/Mobile extension calls or calling random mobiles?

What version of software are you running?
1) Check COS for "Suppress Simulated CCM after ISDN Progress" and change it from whatever it is now. Test it.
2) Calls to cell phones: can you narrow the issue down to iPhones? There was an issue with iPhones and conference bridges. Are you using Mitel's conference bridge?

Thank you both for your replies
The outbound calls are directly from your deskphone to the outside world, it could be calling into a WebEx or just a normal phone call that runs into the 20+ min mark
Yes, the issue happens to be with IPhones from the calls sounding like robots
I did mention the software versions I could find in my initial post, if there is more needed, please let me know and I will try to find it
I will search out the COS settings and see what they are set to
Thanks

Ralph can you elaborate on the iPhone issue?
-
Sorry, I didn't catch the software ver when I read the initial posting.
There was an issue with iPhones (why just iPhones I'm not sure) where when calling into a AWC it cause a static that lasted until the iPhone dropped out. I don't remember which version it was but I believe it was recently fixed.

Hi Ralph, the issue we have and we can easily reproduce it, is from any desk phone, call one of our mobiles (we all have IPhone 4S handsets on UK Vodafone) and leave the call open, between 2-3 minutes into the call, the voice from the mobile back to the desk phone sounds like a robot.
We have only had the issue since we have moved sites, but the connection outbound is still the same using ISDN 2e and the same provider and apart from a maintenance visit from our Mitel provider to perform an update our MAS (the issue was still present before this), nothing else on the system has changed.
Thanks

Does the issue happen on Android phones at all?

Just to provide a quick update
in our COS I changed Suppress Simulated CCM after ISDN Progress from No to yes and we are still getting calls dropping at the 15-20 minute mark
I will be testing an Android phone in the next half an hour so will let you know the results
Thanks

Is there a chance that your ISDN circ is being delivered to your premises via VoIP and handed off to you from a router?
This is sometimes called a "flex" circuit.
If it is then I'd question your carrier again.
