Title: MItel 5330 / 5340 softkey display
Post by: CitySlacker on October 01, 2013, 05:57:32 AM
On both the 5330 and 5340 they have 3 pages for feature keys.

If for example I have a multi line pick-up programmed on page 2 and it rings, i will not see this unless I am actually on page 2.  So if I'm on page 1 I will have to scroll to page 2 to pick it up.

Is there anyway to have the key show up on the softkey pane at the top whenever the multi line rings?  This would mean i could see the line ring even when I was on the wrong page.

Thanks for your help,
Andy

I'm not sure if this works on a 5330.  I know it does on a 5340.
You have to enable float key.
Hit the blue key then settings then on page 2 you have the option to enable float keys.
The help files should be more specific.

As Ralph said, you 1st have to enable floating for the 5340, them programmable keys, press key(s) and float them one at a time. Always select float immediately. This is N/A with the 5330. Thanks.

Hey, City. If you are saying floating is working on a 5330 this is new. Thanks.

Right. You will not see it on a 5330. Maybe eventually they will have it, but not now. Thanks.

I happened to talk to jrg0852 on the phone about this.
I missed a step.
Once you enable the floatkeys on the phone you then have to enable it for each individual key that you want to float.
You do that my hitting the blue key >> settings>> programmable keys then hit the line you want to float.  They are all off by defaut.
You can then select the float options.  As jrg0852 suggest, make them float immediately.
