Hi All
ive just counted 10 broken phones that have become faulty over the last 2 years ive been in my current job.
is it worth having these repaired? in london and looking for recommendation on good companies that fix mitel phones
thanks

It really depends on what you are calling broken.....sometimes broken is simply a cat5e cord that needs replacing...I recently "repaired" a 5324 for customer; the conference unit had been displaced, reset it and all was well.

I'm with X-Man on this. I can't tell you how many phones we get from clients sites stating "DHCP Discovery" or similar issues. We try them in our office and....Viola! They work. Obvious issue/hiccup on clients network. Thanks.

I assume you have no service agreement covering the phones becuase if you did you would naturally ask the dealer to replace the phones. Is it worth having them repaired. Depends on how much you can get a refurbished or a new replacement for vs the amount to get them repaired and the quality of the repaired product. Not sure what shipping costs would be from you country to wherever you might need to ship them to get them fixed.

There are a couple of firms in the Uk that do a fixed priced repair service, never used one but I suppose its wortha try?

If, for example, you've got one phone with a faulty network port and one with a faulty screen, it's easy enough to swap the screen over to give you one working phone. I've done this with '24s and '30s [especially '30s, the screens seem to be a bit vulnerable].
ISTR the prices from Mitel for handset repair were uneconomical.

Hi All
thanks for all your replies

many thanks

Just a tip for when your replacement phones are delivered by DPD on behalf of Alternative Networks, check the handset part as they often come from a 5212 (no rubber bars on them). Also I have known the CAT5 leads supplied to be incorrect.
