Who would have thunk it?
Nortel announced yesterday that they have reached an agreement with Avaya to sell their enterprise division to them. This would include all the PBX/keysystems etc.
$675 Million US.
The type of agreement allows for others to come up with a better bid so it's not quite a done deal yet but they are expecting to close the deal by end of year.
Nortel has a pretty big customer base as does Avaya. Together they'll be huge. I've heard a rumor that Avaya may just fire everybody Nortel but that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I would expect to see a rather deep house cleaning.
But in any case, it's good to be with Mitel just now.

I put a Nortel Contingency Plans check list up on one of my sites.
It's geared toward Nortel customers but would work pretty well for other customers too.

Good stuff Ralph - more than a checklist - more a list of things for management types to think about as things go forward....
Thanks!
