Title: Headset ringing when on call if phone rings
Post by: unclejemima on July 25, 2013, 06:37:58 PM
My staff likes the Mitel cordless dect headset's they have connected to their 5330 and 5340's.

Only complaint is, they will be speaking with a customer on the headset and when another call comes in it will audibly ring in the headset.  Its very loud and very annoying.

Is there anyway to turn this off, or at least reduce the volume of the ringing when in a call?

Thanks!

If you don't need to see or answer the second call, just check BUSY condition in the forwarding path to send second call to VOICE MAIL (or wherever). Or turn off CAMP-ON INDICATIONS in the station flags, you'll still see second call as flashing button but no ring or display.

Thank you.

There is approx 10 people's phones who ring when a call comes in, so if the users with headsets are on a call there is other users who will pick up the ringing line.  There is no real need to have the ringing in the headset users ear.

I think your turn off CAMP-ON INDICATIONS sounds best and will do the trick.  Is this under phone related information in the Mitel system administrator?

Let me know

Correct...System/Phone-Related Information/Flags, select that feature and you'll get a pick list.  Just remove those for whom you want to disable.
