I was asked to add a US number in the phone directory.
e.g. 0016038324567 (the number is modified but is a valid number).
The system says it is an unknown number. I played with it for a while, the pattern seems to be that the system does not like numbers begin with 001. (00 is fine, because we have 0048********* in the directory).
I cannot find a rule saying 001****** is not allowed. Does anyone know where the problem lies? Many thx.

Are you talking about the system speed dial? Then you need to add the ARS access digit, so try 90016038324567 (or however you would dial it from your desk phone)

As Acejavelin points out you need the ARS access number even in the telephone directory for the number to be recognised by the system. remembering if you are using it for alpha tag purposes then you will need to add in the~ between the 9 and the rest of the number.
