Hi Friends,
I use an MXeIII.
Whenever I want to check SMDR logs, It can not be displayed.
Command:
LOGSYS READ smdr ALL MATCH 4048
Reply:
LOGSYS error: FILE buffer could not be read for SMDR log.
File System error: File not open.
What can I do to correct it ????? Thank you for your help.

Have you used the facility before? If no then maybe smdr is not enabled....
the only other thing I can find is this from the help files.
SMDR error handling is limited to the recognition and reporting of clock malfunctions. In the event of a clock failure, the identity of the calling and called parties appears in the call record; however, the start time portion of the record remains blank and the call duration portion of the record contains the words "CLOCK MALFUNCTION" (columns 1 - 17). Any error other than a clock malfunction causes the SMDR output, and hence call record printing, to be inhibited.

Be sure you have options enabled in the SMDR form and also in the COS of the phones & trunks.
Be aware that if you use realtime smdr it will not create the file either.
Realtime smdr is often used for call accounting systems and ACD monitoring systems so be careful disabling it.

Friends,
SMDR was enabled and I checked it several times.
Now what do you suggest I do???

When was the last time the system was rebooted? I would be tempted to set a scheduled reboot as the next option to try.

In the form SMDR options assignment what is the option "SMDR real time reporting" set to?
In your class of service for your trunks and phones is SMDR Internal and External set to yes?
