Hi :-\
Anybody have any suggestions for the following:
I would like to know if its possible to use an IP 5312 connected to a laptop via cat5. The laptop has an internet connection via a WIFi router.
I would then like the user to login via our teleworker server at head office.
Sound plausable but is it possible?
Many Thanks in advance for any comments!

Just to clarify, you want to use the laptop, to "bridge" the Wifi to become wired, for the 5312 phone, correct?
-
That should be possible. Get a second nic for your laptop and bridge the connections.
There's a related "How to" here: www.mitelforums.com/articles/how-to-tether-android-telephone.php (http://www.mitelforums.com/articles/how-to-tether-android-telephone.php)

Interesting. Is there any more info about this?
-
Would think so. Mitel offered a wifi stand at one point so you are just using your laptop to fill that role. Done it a couple of times for a demo with a cell card in the laptop.

From what I have read, UC Xpress is discontinued and the replacement is free UCA server software with free basic client operation.

Yup, there is a bulletin about it, but its buried in the bulletin and its easy to miss it.
