Has anyone experienced an unusual number of the speakers on the 5330's dying? This would be on sets purchased towards the end of 2008. They are not the new backlit models. We purchased about 200 and have had about 5 go out. Not a huge number, and we have not really had any other issues with the phones, but I have to suspect that we will be seeing quite a few more die.

I haven't seen the speaker problem but I have seen other issues with the sets. Mainly, just wont boot.
This would have been early 2008 timeframe.

We purchsed about 2000 of them in the spring and summer of 2007 and had to replace a 50-150 handsets because they had static on them. It was really annoying.

Update. We found the problem with the broken speakers. It turns out that the wires had not been soldered properly (meaning at all) to the speakers. I think we repaired about 4 or 5, but I am sure that the wires will come loose from other speakers in the future. It was not very difficult to solder the speaker wires on.

I haven't seen that myself - but we didn't do many of the 5330's before they became backlit. Thought they were too hard to read and avoided them mostly until later. Glad to hear there is a good, easy fix. Any chance you'd write it up with some pics for us?
