So, how do you do it. MCD5.0 on a CX using embedded VM
The only way I can see is to delete it and recreate it from scratch ( I really only want to put a different operator number in; I have bodged it using a system speed call for the present...) is this really the only way to do it? And will it cause any problems that will bite me in the ass .....
Any help appreciated.

I am not sure I understand... What exactly do you want to modify in the Administrators (999/9999) Mailbox?
The Admin Mailbox should never be used for "normal" purposes.
The Operators Mailbox (0) can be used, although I prefer to make it a Transfer Only mailbox and give any "operator" a real mailbox.
BTW, you can't delete mailbox 0 or 999, they are there permanently. To reset them you will need to do a "To delete this installation and create a new one, Press 1" from the Administrators Mailbox.

I just wanted to route the 'transferring to operator' from the default (0) to 6000 so that if the caller didn't press anything the call looped round back to the AA. I have done it by putting a speedcall against O (zero; default operator from admin mailbox) that points to the VM pilot number which works but seems a bit long drawn out if I could just put 6000 in the operators number of the admin mailbox. Which it seems I can't.

You can modify the extension of mailbox 0 to be 6000.

I also recommend making the mailbox a "Transfer Only" type mailbox when used in this application.
