Hi All,
I keep getting asked by users about their apparent inability to transfer calls themselves, most are using using a BT Converse model phone which has the ability to transfer calls when the user presses the "R" button on the handset, however this doesn't seem to be working for a lot of users now (at least the ones who are moaning about it), I'm sure this a phone feature and not something amiss on the Mitel system (sx2000) but wanted to check with those who have a greater knowledge of such things.
Thanks in advance
Martyn
(IT Support guy lumbered with the phone system)

You're flash timer may be too tight for some of the phone.
Play with the circ descriptor on the phones circ. Start by lengthening the Max Flash timer.
With a little experimentation you should be able to resolve it.

Also check you have the correct recall setting on the phone itself, there should be a switch on the underneath of the phone.

Thanks for the replys, I've also been told by the facilities guys here that it may have something to do with the wiring in the floor ports, the earth or something?

That's makes no sense to me.

I didn't think earth recall was used anymore, it is now a timed based break.
You could get your facilities guys to move a working phone to an outlet where one is not working and test. This should verify cabling or phone issue(assuming programming is ok)

I wasn't sure if this was real thing or not, I'm from IT support and have no previous knowledge of Telecoms, the offices are quite old, from the early 80's so it doesn't suprise me that what we have in place is no longer the norm.
I'll speak to the guys in facilities and see if we can check the issue against other users.
Thanks for your help
