Title: 5000 Background noise Playback

Good Morning!

Having an issue with new 5000 install's we are doing. What happens is in noisy areas the background noise is being picked up and when you turn the volume up to hear people it also turns up the volume on that background noise that the handset mic is picking up and blasts it in your ear thus cancelling out the point of turning up the volume.

We were able to go back and forth with Mitel a few years ago regarding this identical issue and we did get it fixed at one store however years have gone by and now none of us can remember which setting it was.

Any thoughts?

Try reducing Handset Side Tone gain on the station, which can be adjusted in On-Line Monitor. Be very careful where you click in On-Line Monitor!

Also, if you are certified, tech support will gladly work with you on this, there is sometimes other settings that need to be adjusted as well... I generally avoid the Online Monitor, but if you really mess it up you just need to delete the extension and rebuild it.
