Title: Mitel 3300 4.2 Embedded Vmail - procedure wrong in 'help' file?

Hello,

I was trying to setup the embedded voicemail on our 3300 MCD 4.2 controller.  I was following the procedure outlined in the 'help' link.

The procedure from the 'help' link says to setup the COS, then define the VM Ports and then build and add the ports to a hunt group.

Following this procedure, I get the following error when adding VM ports to hunt group:  Member has one of his COS set as voice mail port.

This has to do w/ the COV/ONS/E&M Voice Mail Port option when defining the COS.

To get around the error, I had to define the VM Ports, build and add the ports to a hunt group - and then define the COS and options.

Not sure if the procedure has missteps.  But mainly just wanted to share my troubleshooting experience, in hopes of helping someone else.

When you were adding the ports to the hunt group, had you set the hunt group type to voicemail?

ah...you are correct.  it was set to voice instead of voicemail.  that makes sense now.

Hi,

i have this same exactly issue..(Member has one of his COS set as voice mail port). Please Help!:(

I did everything else to the book.. i also selected hunt group type .. Voicemail.

any ideas? as i have been fighting this for days.

The hunt group has to be set as the type "Voice mail".

The only reason you would get this message is if your hunt group type is NOT set to Voice Mail... Delete the hunt group and add it again, verifying it is a Voice Mail hunt group (NOT a Voice hunt group). Members of hunt groups with Voice Mail Port in their COS can only be added to a Voice Mail hunt group, and members without that COS option cannot be added to a Voice Mail hunt group.
