Title: Basic system admin
Post by: Dogbreath on January 30, 2013, 12:23:13 PM
Is there an interface for users to do some basic system admin? I've looked at the UWI, but it's a bit too basic and really only concerned with an individual extension. On a 3300, what I would do is create a system admin profile and give a user access to a couple of forms [eg Ring Group Assignment, Telephone Directory Assigment] so they could take extensions in/out of groups and rename things at will.  Is there something like this on a 5000?

Depends on your software version... in newer (around 4.0) they added "System Accounts", if you have that in your software you can left-click and add a new user, set password, access rights, etc. They will still need to use the software, just have limited access to things. Go to the System Accounts section and press F1, the help should spell everything out pretty clearly.

This is 5.1 so should be a doddle. I will have a go and post back.

V6 is going to have just the feature you are after i'm led to believe.

Browser based basic admin.
