Hello,
We have a Mitel 3300 running release level 4.2 PR2 SP1.
My programmed reboot schedule looks like:
PROGRAMMED REBOOT SCHEDULE IS ON
PROGRAMMED REBOOT SCHEDULED: DAILY 02:15:00
PROGRAMMED REBOOT RESOURCE RECOVERY IS ON
PROGRAMMED REBOOT RESOURCE: RECOVERY 02:15:00
PROGRAMMED REBOOT COURTESY IS OFF
Checking the logs on the controller shows no reboot occurring at this time.
I turned on the programmed reboot schedule yesterday - do i have to wait 24 hours for the system to recognize this time as a valid interval.
In the mitel documentation it shows: Programmed Reboot Resource Recovery ON/OFF - Turns the programmed reboot on and off. If enabled, a software-controlled reboot will occur at the next occurrence of the specified time ONLY if the available memory threshold has been reached or if a non-critical resource failure occurs.
I don't think I'm reaching either of these conditions during the reboot time. Should I turn resource recovery off?
Thanks.

That's a normal looking reboot schedule (http://www.mitelforums.com/articles/3300/Mitel-3300-shutdown-proceedures.php).
Did the logs show anything for the 2:15 time frame?

Don't see any issue with it being there, but not sure of the need to reboot the system every day. If there is a need to reboot it then it should be done, otherwise I'd just leave it. Having the resource recovery reboot enabled will cover you for any resource issues that might send it OTT.

thank you for your prompt replies :)
Regrettably, the logs show nothing happening at 0215.
I just wanted to confirm that my reboot schedule looked okay.
Yeah - maybe I should specify a day/time.
We have a 'major' alarm on the system administration tool default webpage page. But 'show faults alarms' shows no faults on the system. We're hoping that rebooting the system will 'sync' the alarm status.
Thanks again.

If I were you I would do a manual shutdown and restart if you can to see if this sorts it and then try the reboot.

thank you for your replies :)
the controller rebooted per schedule this a.m. major alarm still not cleared - but that's 'nother issue to troubleshoot.
thanks again.

Just one more point. As far as Mitel is concerned you do not need to do a daily reboot of the 3300. That was more or less a requirement in older software but in MCD 4.2 you really don't need it. Sure once in a while you might need one to fix an issue but other then that they are supposed to run without rebooting.
