Hello everyone,
I am beginning to work with this Mitel SX 200 PBX. Everytime I try to make an external call I get the "external busy" message.
I wonder if you guys with more experience could tell me the forms I should be looking to fix this.
thank you.

All the trunks that you have access to on that route are in use or unavailable for some reason. "EXTERNAL" is likely a trunk group name.
Can other phones make calls?
-
You can't make any calls?
I'd suggest you call your carrier and have them look at the trunks.

thanks for your answers.
acejavelin: No one can make any external call.
ralph: I just called them, they say the trunks are OK but they are receiving an Alarm. Actually it shows a MAJOR alarm.
I remember just adding a String to dial after 9 for international calls, from here (Mexico) it would be 00 + country code + area + number.
somebody had to make a phone call to China and couldn't make the call. now I can't make any call being local, Int; or to cellphones.
Our provider is bad, he will check the problem later today, unsure about the time.
Hopefully is just a configuration issue and not a hardware issue.

anybody find the solution to this? I'm having the same issue.

If your trunks have been working for a long while, go to your carrier first.
Odds are the issue is with the carrier.
You may see an alarm on your system.
This will be a good indication that you have a down T1.

Found out my PCI card went bad. Replaced it with a spare and phones started to work again.
Can you direct me to a link that will help me with login to the program. I have a xp machine and i'm trying to login to the Mitel with Hyperterminal, default settings, serial cable, and still can't get the program to show up anything. thanks.

9600 N81 no flow control should work for most systems. Connect and hit enter a few times. If this doesn't bring up the login, reboot phone system and try it again.
