Title: Mitel firmware downloads
Post by: gr8whtd0pe on January 09, 2013, 11:24:27 PM
Is there anywhere we can download updates for our 5000 without being a Mitel tech? Ours basically refuses to update our system.

Software should not be posted in public forums, the possible ramification to end users not knowing the proper procedure and licensing issues is too extreme.

A dealer refusing to upgrade a system sounds a bit odd, to say the least. With Mitel pushing Software Assurance, the opposite is usually the case. There must be more to the story.

Ummm... be very careful here, if you update out of your current software stream you will need a new license Mitel or your system will reboot every few hours and you will always have a LICENSE ALARM on the admin phones. You cannot change outside of the same minor revision, meaning the first and second positions cannot change. If you are running 3.2.0.14 you must stay with a 3.2.X.X load or you will need a new license, and thus Software Assurance.

I suggest a mod would delete the post above.

You will end up with a lot of users updating their systems and finding they have an unlicensed 5000!

Yeah that works for me. Probably not the best place I could have asked this.
