Title: Open source SMDR reporting software
Post by: mgodinez on October 24, 2012, 07:45:41 PM
Dear greater mitel intellect,

Does anyone have any experiences w/ this:  http://simplesmdr.sourceforge.net/

I loaded the VMware appliance - but immediately got config errors.  No serial port detected, some .iso not detected.  Seems easy enough to fix, but I didn't want to continue as I do not know how reputable this tool is.

Thanks.

Regards,

Mike G.

I have had a brief look at it in the past, but never really spent the time to get it going properly.
I would be interested to hear if others have given it a go though and how they have found it compared to other paid products that are out there.

I know there is a member here working on his own variant of SMDR reporting.
Not ready yet but perhaps he'll have a moment to jump in the conversation.

I also looked at simple smdr but I noticed that it had not been updated in a couple years.  I only looked at it through the on line demo.  I am fairly new to the dot net world and I felt that trying to piece together someone else's code might be a bit over my head.  I started working on a web based program for my company and it is moving along nicely.  I have it on line but I am still tweeking it so that I can open it to the public.  I plan on offering it as an open source project.

It will have two parts.
1) A service that is installed on a PC/server that does the data collection.

2) An asp site that displays the information collected and allows for configuration for the pbx or pbxs.(We have dual 3300s)

I needed a way so any user could log in and see their individual data or a supervisor could log in and see their departments individual extension data.

At this point I have the service working and I am displaying all the records collected.  I am working on a secure demo and the extension/user page.

I am attaching a screen shot.
