Title: Java Backup issues and Work Around - Mitel 3300

In case anyone has come across the frustration of not being able to back up or restore systems recently, and receiving an error that Java is required,and you are running Windows 7, and IE9, and have run the latest round of windows updates, then you need to check out KB12-5191-00282 on MOL.

There is a fix for the problem, and it has to be applied to each system that you have issues with and according to the KB it will be fixed in the next release of MCD, but effects anything from MCD 4.0 and above, so looks like we are stuck with the problem.

As they don't say which update it is that has cause the issue it is hard to figure out which one needs to be removed (if it can be) and not installed.

Can you tell me specifically where to find that fix? I have searched the net and cannot come up with it.

Login to MOL, browse to the knowledge base.. select MCD as the product and search for the number that mart provided.

You will need to FTP into the 3300 and replace the existing file with the added one. Time wise a minute.........
Location of the file that needs to be replaced sysro/webs/web/uwi/backup_restore/
Unzip the file before upload to 3300.

This appears to have been caused by a microsoft patch.  Remove update KB2744842 from your PC.  That should also resolve.
