In an old thread, http://mitelforums.com/forum/index.php/topic,258.msg943.html#msg943
someone asked a problem similar to mine. we have various auto-attending messages for different departments. Only the "main" messages gives the 9 for "dial by name". How do I get people from the other auto-attending messages to the dial by name message? It is fine that all names are listed in one directory...
Eli
You'll have to have all mailboxes on each system you need dial by name by.
Or, upgrade to a centralized voice mail,
Or, incorporate the new Microsoft Exchange stuff -really cool, voice activated, call me if you want a demo.
Or, pick up a used voice mail system for that express purpose. You could even use an old DOS machine for that. Cheap solution but it's another data base you'd have to maintain. If it crashes you pick up another one.

That old thread really doesn't relate to your issue I don't believe.
If you're using menus off of mail boxes, also known as Multi Level Auto Attendant (MLAA) you won't be able to do that with the embedded. There's no way to get into the dial by name directory from sub-menus - only from the main menu.

is there a way to give people an option to get to the main menu?
On this one MLAA, when it ends, it recycles back to the beginning of the same message in an endless loop.
Thanks

The easiest way would be to create a mailbox that forwards to the main hunt group number of the VM.
Then add that mailbox as an option in your MLAA.

I actually had set one up for a previous purpose so that worked. I also just created a system speed dial "711" that transfers directly to the main auto attendant for people to type as a 3 digit "extension".
