Hi everyone,
We are currently evaluating Mitel for a new PABX. One option we'd like is the ability to click to dial GAL contacts from within Outlook. I've seen this in other PABX Outlook addins. You simply click on the e-mail address in the From or To field and click the phone symbol.
Can the Mitel Outlook addin do this? I asked our Mitel dealer and they didn't know.
Cheers Mark

I use it for address book contacts all the time but not actual gal contacts because those same users are in the directory and I can see their statuses first.
I am distinguishing between gal and additional contacts.

I assume you are using your UCA client for making these calls? How did you configure it to work if I may ask?

The answer to your question is yes but it needs an additional application to enable it, This Could be Unified Communicator Advanced a server based product you need to pay for or Unified communicator Express which is free if you have 53xx handsets.
There are also third party apps available on the web for this.
I Would suggest if you have 53xx phones you start here http://unifiedcommunicatorexpress.com/

Hi Mark,
we have experienced the same question,
the answer i got from mitel is that 'click to dial' requires Mas server and unified communicator advanced, while unified communicator express provides search to dial.
i hope this is useful.
