Hello.
I have a MXEII & A CXI II in a cluster on V4.2.
Over the last few days we have problems with the MX and have been advised by Mitel upgrade to V5 xx.
They advised to remove the MX from the cluster first.
Can some advise on the removal procedure.
Thanks
Dave

Is the other system in the cluster being upgraded as well? Is the other system at another site or on the same site and just being used for resilancy?
I would ask more information why they need it removed from the cluster, as depending on your cluster set up it will have an impact. You shouldn't need to remove the system from the cluster to upgrade it, and if you remove it, then I would be very hesitant to try and put it back in again at a later date without any corruption occurring.

Hi, Thanks for your reply.
Yes the other system will be upgraded.
The CX is at another site, and is being used as resilancy.
I think we have decided to do the upgrade without removing from the cluster.

I would suggest upgrading both at the same time, but either way you should not have to break the cluster just to upgrade.

The reason they asked him to remove the Mx is because the hardware isn't supported on MCD 5.0

Hmmm... I am pretty sure the MXeII and the CXi II are fully supported under MCD 5.0, you are thinking of the original MX controller, that is not what he said he has.

Even an original Cx is supported under MCD 5, though you just have to wait a fair bit longer for it to boot!
The original Mx isn't though.

Hi, Thanks for all your advice.
We will be upgrading on 5/9, Will update on any problems.

Just be sure you have enough RAM before you get started. It needs 512 for anything above 9.
