Title: How to turn off back light on Mitel 5212 IP?

I have a Mitel 5212IP phone. I need to turn off the back light on the phone when not in use.

Seems like I've seen somewhere in some recent Mitel docs that said they were coming out with a release that would turn off the back light.   But I think it only applied to 53xx phones and the software hasn't been released yet.
Maybe someone else has a different answer but unfortunately I think you may be stuck.

Is this for a hotel app?

I think Ralph is correct here, I know of no way to turn off the backlight on a 5212/5224 set.

I think there was a patch that allowed this. Try calling Mitel Product Support and asking them.

Interestingly, my 5224 teleworker phone now auto dims when not used for a while...I'm sure it didn't used to do that....and nowts been changed software wise.
