Title: Voice mail hunt group problem
Post by: eciroglu on May 31, 2012, 08:05:47 AM

Hi everyone

When i dial voice mail hunt group number, i hear a busy tone. I can not use the voice mailbox. I created a voice mail hunt group and added all voice mail port number to this hunt group as member.

How must i configure general parameter to use voice mailbox? How can i reach to the administrator voice mailbox? Where am i doing mistake?

Thanks.

Okay,

Be good to know what system your on (model and version)?

Otherwise, couple of obvious things;
1) Correct COS (Class of Services) for the voicemail ports? - You at the very least need "COV/ONS/E&M/ Voice Mail Port - Yes"
2) If you've only just configured voicemail port assignment form, then you'll need to reboot the switch to get the Voicemail going for the first time.
3) Hunt group type needs to be Voicemail.

Hope that helps

Jonathon

Thanks for reply.

Everything you wrote is correctly assigned. May the PBX have any license problem? 'Advanced voice mail' is assigned to 'yes', but 'voice mail networking' is assigned 'no'. My ARID has only 16 IP user,16 IP device,16 mailbox and 2 sip trunk licenses.

In the maintenance window enter this command:
"Stat ext <one of the VM port extensions>

Example would be:  "Stat ext 1001"

Post your results here.

Oh, and one more thing.    If you 'just' created the vm hunt group does that mean you also just programmed the VM ports?
If yes then you need to reboot your system.

I rebooted the PBX several times after repeating configuration process several times. There are status results for vm port extensions (7777,7778,7779,7780):

I'm thinking out loud here so that others can join in.....

I'm wondering if this is a DSP issue.

What kind of trunks are on this system?   (SIP - I know)  but do you have any CO trunks at all?  Can you program up an analog port?
What model of 3300 are you using?

I am using analog LS trunk via AMB. When calls are routed to an extension or voice hunt group, it is working. But when routed to vm hunt group, calls are not answered, just ringing.

I am using 3300 cxi.

Thanks.

Is there any command to activate extension number that is out of service? For COM port command or maintenance command

Thanks.

There isn't a command to activate extensions that are out of service.

Let me bounce a question off the rest of the group:
From the earlier post I see that that the 4 VM ports are out of service.   But I also see that they are programmed as 4150 phones.   Is this correct?  Somehow I'm thinking that it should be 4025.

Yes, vm ports are set as 4150 automatically. Is it possible to change them? Or how can i fix this problem anyway?

In fact, my problem is that external calls are not answered by AA. External calls are directed to vm hunt group that is consist of vm port extensions.

Thanks.

Connect to the serial port on the from of the system (or use putty) and enter this command and post the results:   DumpDspBootInfo

I'm wondering if you have the correct DSP module for voice mail.
Has the VM on this system ever work?

The screen print of DumpDspBootInfo command:

Dsp(0,0): mmcSlot=5 (1-based) Load Type: TELEPHONY(1,"/sysro/DspConfig/TELE005G.
161")
           Mod Type: DEFAULT(0)
Dsp(0,1): mmcSlot=5 (1-based) Load Type: ECHOCANCELLER(3,"/sysro/DspConfig/ECHO0
05G.161")
           Mod Type: DEFAULT(0)
value = 25 = 0x19

We are using the ICP for almost 6 weeks and we are the first user of the ICP.

Thanks.

I solved this problem via 'iPVM_Start' command. Thank you very much ralph for your help.

Now i am working to configure AA. The simple scenario is like this: When an external call incomes to the AA, it plays greeting message and press 2 to reach extension 101, press 3 to reach 105. I will be working over this configuration.

Which kind of mail boxes must i use? How must i set up menu node mail box(es) ?

Thanks.

I would have thought that a system reboot would have done that for you so I don't understand what happened..  I'm glad it's working for you now.

To set up your AA, create mailbox 2 as a "Transfer" mailbox.  For the extension use 101.
Then create mailbox '2' as a transfer box and then use extn 103.

After entering 'iPVM_Stop' and 'iPVM_Start' commands, it works.

How can i remove the announcement that is playing after welcome message like that: 'I am transfering you to 1 0...' ?
I only want to hear my recorded greeting, not any system greeting.

Thanks.

In addition, why the iPVM task is stopped when the PBX power off? Do i have to execute 'iPVM_Start' command after each system power reboot?

Thanks.

That is strange.   You shouldn't have have to enter that command every time it reboots.
If it were me, my next step would be to re-install the software.

What can you say about this? How can it be fixed?

Thanks.

You don't mention what software revision you are running, but it sounds like it would be odd for that to be a bug as the VM service should start up with the system.

If you connect to the serial interface during boot up and capture the output and post it here there might be a clue as to why it's not starting.
