Title: SMDR on Mitel MXe Server Printer Port
Post by: august on December 02, 2011, 07:47:29 AM
I have a customer with two 3300MXeIII and one MXe Server.

the customer want to have the SMDR on a serial port, not on a TCP IP Port.

I know I can output the SMDR to the serial port of the MXeIII, but I'm not sure I can use the printer port of the Mxe Server since this port is used to configured the MSL.

So can I output the SMDR on the printer port, if not, is there another way to do it without using an ip to serial port converter?

Do you happen to have an IP 5550 console in the network?
I'm thinking I may have done this once that way.

You can use the serial port on the pc of a 5550 or you could by a serial to ip converter. I use the precidia ipocket this telnets to the MXe SMDR port and then outputs on a 9way serial connection
