Hi all,
We have a customer with the following setup for incoming calls :
DID 555-555-1234 -> Famtom #170. The famtom is forwarded to a hunt group (100) with an extension list (P0000) to make two endpoints ring at the same time. Famtom #170 is also forwarded to voicemail in case of no answer.
DID 555-555-5678 -> Famtom #171. The famtom is forwarded to a hunt group (179) with an extension list (P0000) to make two endpoints ring at the same time. Famtom #171 is also forwarded to voicemail in case of no answer.
We must have this setup because those two DIDs are for different companies, and must have two separate mailboxes. However those two numbers have the same receptionists.
Is there a way to light up a message waiting indicator on their phones for mailboxes #170 and #171? In a Mitel 3300, we just program a "Message Waiting Indicator" key, and everything works!
Is there a way to do the same on a 5000? I can't find!
Have you ever faced this situation?
Thanks a lot!

If I was configuring this I would do the following:
DDI rings to a Hunt Group with the Extension list in as a Member to make two handsets ring.
Recall destination for the Hunt Group is a Call Routing Application that goes straight to a non associated mailbox (for no answer)
That mailbox then alerts whichever phone you want under Notification Endpoint.
I don't think you can alert multiple phones, you definitely couldn't on older software releases, never tried on newer stuff.
But you can allow multiple mailboxes to alert the same phone.

Thanks for your answer Dave!
Tested it yesterday in our lab. You were right. The key was to create a non-associated mailbox. In this case, you can change the "Message Notification Phone" field.
I confirm that you can light up only 1 message light on version 5.
