Title: headset key on 5300 or 5200 phones

Fellas,

Not sure what i am missing, but when i program a key on any new phone for "headset" it is not working.  The user will hit the appropriate key and the headset appears to pick up, but does not get a dial tone.  This is the firs time I am putting new headset keys on our phones.  Previous user's already had these keys before I got here.  Do I have to do something specific on the phone itself?

What kind of headset and what model of phone?

mitel 5312

mirage h41 and p41 headsets

Try plugging the hand set into the headset base and the headset base into the phone where the handset would normally go.
Don't use the headset connector on the phone it self.
Give that a shot and let us know how it works.
