The company that sold us our Mitel 5000 system over 10 years ago is long gone. They gave me the MiVoice software and we've been able to make minor changes ever since.
Our SIP provider made some changes so we need to get in. It's been over a year since I've logged in--smooth sailing. the username: admin / xxxx password we've used forever (which was saved in my computer) is not being accepted.
I'm aware of the Access issue that requires repairing the install which I have had to do many times in the past.
It asks for the user/password at 20% during the process of connecting. I have guess every password I can think of.
In the end I need a professional. We in the San Francisco Bay Area. The vendors they are recommending as partners are huge IT companies and I couldn't even find the right person to help. I could easily give remote control to someone but in the end I need someone that can work with Mitel to get us access. Small shop preferred and availability ASAP.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Is there anything I'm missing with this username/password thing?

In case this piques anyones mind--the red light on the PBX starts blinking when it says web_ok. After it ran through the rest of porcess it restarted web_ok. Still can't log in and screen just says phone with red light blinking.
Going to try to restore a backup next.
Still would like some mitel supported help if anyone interested as a vendor.

We were able factory restart the box. Then we were able to get in with the admin / itpassw combo. It asked us to put a new password in which we did.
Then we were able to go through the initial setup screens in the MiVoice software. Licenses, hardware seems to be in tact.
Then we loaded our last backup of the configuration--that also went smoothly.
After the unit restarted we're exactly back where we started: at 20% of the login screen it says bad password and we are trying both the new one we created as well as the default...no dice.
Once we did the restore should it have changed the admin password back to the one we supposedly don't know?
If that is in fact what happened is there any dealers willing to work quickly with us/mitel to get us in? This just makes no sense.

loungesong,
That would be a costly matter to get done what you are asking, for a couple of reasons.
1. You would have to have your ARID move to that vendor which costs money for Mitel to do that for you.
2. You would have to pay Mitel to reset your password.
Your best bet, as you have already figured out, is to do a reset [default] of the system and put in your own password, and then just program the system from the base.
Of course you would have to know how your system was configured in the first place or you would need to start from scratch.
If you reload the database you have back in the password will be restored as well.
Thanks,
TE
