Title: 6 phones - 2 rings each
Post by: Chakara on November 12, 2008, 08:59:13 PM
I got a request that is seeming a bit difficult.  While I believe this request is in reality unworkable, it was decided by upper management and they aren't giving me access to said management to convince them of a better solution.

That said, here is what they want.  6 phones.  Incoming calls ring phone 1 2 times, then phone 2 2 times, phone 3 2 times, etc.   At the same time I have to assume (as they won't clarify) that those 6 people want thier own voicemails.  My though was to set up secondary line appearances on each of the phones - each phone getting a new unique DN (say 1501-1506).   Give each of these new DN's a unique COS that has 2 rings before hitting the first alternate.  Have the 1st alternate be an ACD path that has the next DN as it's path unavailable answer point.

IE:  1501 rings 2 times - first alternate is path 2501 which has 1502 as it's path unavailable answer point.  repeat.

Will this work?  Is there a better way?

Would a sequential ring group work?

LOL - it might.  I'll test tomorrow but that may be exactly what we need.  Thanks for pointing out the obvious...
