Title: 6940w phones with phone manager
Post by: thenewguy on May 15, 2024, 01:34:34 PM
Has anyone used a 6940W phone with the 250 and it work.  I am getting to the send pin stage but nothing will happen.  Install a 6940 phone and it will come up and function?

I have 3 6940's here on my 250 system.. From what i recall (and this is just memory ad i did not install these myself) they are SIP phones?  They had to put in that Linux Based PC to make them work (Mitel Communications Server?)... Its been a few years..   Right now i have only 1 in operation, the other 2 were remote phones i took offline for 5360's (much easier and works better).

Should be just like a regular 6940, meaning you need to use MCS (though I thought it was a Windows application, not Linux, but it's been a few years since I worked on one).

I just reread my post, it's a little misleading.   I have a bunch of 6940s working on this system.  However when I try to use the 6940w it will not come up.  I can take a non W phone and it will work on the extension.    I know I had run into a software issue with bringing up W phones on a 3300 system on older software.  I figure this is the same thing.

You may need updated firmware for the 6940w's, you'd have to check the MCS documentation on how to apply the firmware update.

thenewguy,

The 6940W came out after the last update of the MiVO-250 so I am not sure it will work with the MiVoice Office Application Server.

Sorry,
