Title: PRI to SIP
Post by: Mike_mitel on August 08, 2023, 12:15:17 AM
We have an HX5000 and a T1 connected through an Adtran 904.

Our provider decided to end T1 service and we are being forced to move to SIP.

I thought the 5000 was network ready, but I don't see an ethernet card (other than the LAN card( How can I interface the new Ethernet Network provided by the carrier to the adtran and the 5000?

I already talked to our Mitel service partner for pricing on SIP license.

Can anyone point me in a direction to get this system back online?

The SIP connection would work through the LAN interface. So the upstream SIP interface ideally should be on the same subnet as the LAN interface, or at least have IP connectivity to it. So if your controller LAN interface is 10.1.10.10 with a 255.255.255.0 subnet mask, have the provider provision their SIP handoff for an available IP in the 10.1.10.x range, connect the SIP connection to a port on the same VLAN as the controller LAN port, and you should be good.

I think the 904 is capable of doing sip to pri conversion.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes. The 904 is capable of doing SIP to PRI conversion.

A tech from our SIP provider is coming out tomorrow to configure the 904. ( I know there's not much coding for it, but they won't give me access to do that.)

You can always check the adtran forum, think this setup is widely sharded and is not too diffult to get working either sip to pri or pri to sip in the Mitel environment.

I've done both and only needed tp turn prack off on the Mitel when I had a call issue.
