Hello folks!
I have a clustered client who currently has a CXII at one of their sites. It is getting weirdly flaky (i believe something happened physically to the Ethernet port in this box). The client has stock equipment... of which - a "spare" MXeIII. This site does have t1 trunking.
So here's my question...
Can I save the db of the CXII, and replace the hardware with the MXeIII controller? IS THERE A DATABASE CONVERTER type tool? Or will the DB work for both? I understand that their have to be AMC changes, but for the hardware... how do i make the database compatible between the two?
Please help!
Note: the platforms are both on 9.1 SP1 Mitel 3300.

You should be able to restore the CX-II database onto the MXE-III. You may have to make some programming changes if hardware is involved (CIM cards or analog boards, specifically), but otherwise it should be doable.

I think you can swap the iButton in terms of the AMC work to move the app record one from machine to the other. The PLID of the trunks will likely change when you swap out the T1/E1 card so just beware of that when you restore the DB.

Yes, moving the iButton will save you the step of having to clear the hardware ID in AMC. If you have a T1/E1 card, put it in the same slot in the new controller; that should keep the software happy.

MXe can support both T1/E1 cards, move should be simple restore. I MHO
