Title: Micollab login
Post by: murrayafc on September 08, 2022, 10:55:05 PM
Hello

I have a site where different users share the same PC, Same windows login.

Does anybody know a way to get the micollab desktop client to prompt for a username and password each time its opened? You do it once either with the code or the login and it does not ask again. Require this so different users can login. Using the web based client is not an option either due to issues with headsets....

Server version = 9.6.0.10
Client Version = 9.4.20

Cheers

Not going to work. MiCollab saves the credentials in the roaming profile, so if you're using the same PC login across multiple users (not great security policy, but out of scope of this issue), it's going to want to use those cached credentials on launch.

So do you think I am wrong to say use web client?

No, I was replying to the original post. Web client would force a new login for each session, but the original post said that wasn't an option due to headset issues.

Legacy 7.3 client will allow different users to login on same machine just make sure users do not select remember me on the login page.
Unless you want to use the web client to self deploy each user as they login which is not pleasant.
