Mitel and RingCentral make a $650 million deal. RingCentral buys Mitel's IP rights and patents covering network and call management, security, and infrastructure.
One of my favorite companies of all times is changing.
RingCentral becomes Mitel's exclusive UCaaS partner.
I'm not sure how I feel about this. What do Y'all think?

Searchlight is looking for return on their investment, it's the nature of how VC companies work. I don't expect this to be the last news like this in the near future, i wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Mitel part of an M&A deal with another on-prem UC company (of the few that are left).
