Title: Faxing outbound failing TA7102 ATA
Post by: ApersonsGCC on April 15, 2021, 09:49:20 AM
We have a customer site with the following setup:

Mitel TA7102 ATA(fax)> Registers to Mitel MiVB MXE3> SIP trunks through Mitel MBG.

The site has 2 ATA's for fax machines. If you call inbound to the ATA's, you get fax tones. Both of the fax machines can talk to each other via the DID numbers. But if you try to fax outbound to anywhere, the machine gets a busy signal.

All the phones can make and receive calls no problem. I can't find any settings for T38 other than the ATA and the COS in the MiVB. does any one have any ideas?

Does your provider SIP trunk support T.38?
AFAIK,:
- The call should degrade gracefully to G.711 if T.38 isn't available
- T.38 licenses are only relevant where the call actually terminates on an analogue port on the controller [hence not being able to apply T.38 licenses to vMiVB]

Sounds more like a dial plan issue, or they aren't dialing correctly. You should be able to plug a plain old telephone into the ports and make test calls.
