Hey there
 how do I set up the phone for 802.1x option? We are trying to get our phones to register to our authentication server (Packetfence) before assigning it an ip. Thanks :)

probably related to you current phone firmware , what is the version of your mivb?

Im talking about the version of your mivb not the firmware version

How about eap md5? I want to use mac authentication.

config phone --> Tools and features --> Edit 802.1x settings -> Enable 802.1x Data --> then you can enter your username/password.
