We have a lot of phone groups, hunt groups, ring groups etc. Most of these groups have Speed dial numbers associated with them and would have multiple internal extension members. We noticed recently that if a member sets call forwarding (External Number) on their desktop phone 5312 IP and someone phones the Speed Dial the call rings at their desk phone and doesn't call forward to their external number.
Is this by design??

It's by design. The user isn't ringing but the group is ringing.

@NEPhoneGuy
Is there anyway getting around this?? As like most companies these days we have a lot of people working from home, would setting up a speed dial number with toll override ticked and having that diverted to a mobile work?

I don't believe so.
The folks in the ring group either need to have their physical phone at home with them or MiCollab softphone going. Some stuff that may work that I don't have experience with might be external hot desking.

you need to purchase Ehdu licence ( External hotdesk user) to be able to ring both (deskphone + mobile) or only mobile or only deskphone. ( group presence key)

@sunspark
Thanks, we have 20 of those licenses so might test this out next
