Had an issue i hadnt seen before with voicemail to email on the Micollab/Nupoint

I fixed the issue. It was voicemail to email not working
This post is to share what I learnt
This time the cause was the from address setting was set to use the smtp servers user id
As we weren’t using one it stopped the emails from even trying to be sent. Nothing in qmail log
Once I change the from address setting to be ‘ let nupoint determine’ then the qmail log showed the email attempts.

One thing I do know if you choose to use the MSL in Nupoint, the login user has to be user@domain.tld or it won't send. I have had to set MiCollabe to smtp to another MSL server with the whole name and password and have it use the true login, this was on port 25. The second MSL ignores the password but will take the from address.
