So here is a scenario- I'd like to establish a number that people can call anonymously. I've toyed with ringing one line, that forwards as an external call, with CPN substition, to another DID. I cannot get consistent results with this. Sometimes I see no number, but I do see name...has anyone ever configured something like this? Consider an anonymous crime tip line.

What type of trunk is it? You should be able to do it with Class of Service settings, but setting a different COS for one trunk/DID could get hairy depending on what type of trunk it is.
-
It's PRI- that's the tricky part. I don't want it to strip all inbound caller ID, just calls to a specific DID so I don't think COS for the trunks will not work in this scenario.

How many simultaneous calls? You could loop back an ons port to a ls trunk without class enabled

Thought about that. It probably would never be more than one caller at a time. Not on premise at this time so prefer something can be done remotely.

if I understood correctly, you don't want to display the DID number of incoming calls?
-
Correct. I need to strip all external caller identification before presenting to a user. The callers need to be assured anonymity.

what if you uncheck all "displays" in the Trunk + user COS ?

set to no :
Display ANI/DNIS/ISDN Calling/called Number
Display ANI/ISDN Calling Number Only
you will see the name of your Trunk attribute ( you can display "Anonymous")

I think I already tried that. I’ll double check tomorrow. Thanks!

Looks like I was able to pull it off by building a SIP trunk between two controllers. Still doing some testing, but it looks VERY promising so far.
